SLIM DEVICES INTRODUCES THE DORKU™ TUBULAR MUSIC PLAYER
Expands product line to 45 feet!
Mountain View, CA—Slim Devices, Inc. today announced the introduction of the Dorku Tubular music player. Featuring display technology originally designed for highway warning signs, the new Slim Devices Dorku tubular music player raises the bar for the entire industry.
The Dorku's innovative software is based on some really exciting stuff we downloaded from the Internet.
-Dean Blackketter, Slim Devices CTO
Although the new product does not represent any real innovation, its appealing size and sensible design are guaranteed to make this our most successful product ever.
My wife hates it, and my children laugh at me, but the Dorku's giant cylindrical form and stunning
audio clarity make it worth the embarrassment. With their patented concrete isolation platform,
Slim Devices has set the new benchmark for audio performance.
-Richard Small, Audiophile Weekly
Audio capabilities include standard RCA outputs complemented by a 12 megawatt internal subwoofer. The Dorku's tubular shape makes it practical for mounting in any position, if you know what I mean. The tube also functions as a sort of "giant Pringles can" waveguide for the optional 100Hz wireless network interface, perfect for communicating with submarines up to distances of fifty nautical miles.
We spent over four million dollars just getting the DSP algorithms to run on its new processor.
-Sean Adams, Slim Devices CEO
Available in both 20 and 45 foot models, the Dorku will begin shipping in late February at a suggested retail price of $249 and $499. (All prices are in kUSD.)
Factory technician Wang prepares
the Dorku's chassis for assembly.
